If there's one thing I've learned, LJ is the land of the artistically retarded, which is why, in retrospect, I'm glad I'm on dA now. I don't really take anything seriously there that I hear on LJ because most of the people there have no idea what they're talking about and it'll save you a lot of gray hair to just go with your gut. There was one time I was doing a commission and the client wanted desperately for me to make the background black but I knew it would look like shit; I seriously went to the MATS over it, but in the end, I was right, and I'm glad I won. They don't understand that it's still your name on the picture at the end so you need to make the choices you think are best. There are just some comments that say more about them as art critics/people than you as an artist, you know?
